The FileMaker User Group - South West meeting

Earlier this month, the South West FileMaker User's Group met up. The group's members hail from all over the south west, from Devon up to the Cotswolds, and have a range of abilities ranging from the FileMaker beginner all the way up to Platinum members of the FileMaker Business Alliance.

The range of topics covered is diverse and doesn't just involve FileMaker. The Group acts as a kind of mutual support network, where the niceties of account handling, advertising and finances can be batted about.

At the latest meeting, for instance, topics such as selecting clients, managing budgets and the delivery process were discussed.

The meeting starts at 18:00 (ish) and attendees can order food as well as drinks from the bar of our venue, The Fox and Goose Inn. Meetings tend to wind down about 21:00hrs.

On a more technical subject, at the last meeting we discussed ways of implementing calendars inside FileMaker and the new 'selector connector' method of building relational files, as well as helping some new users with their individual database requirements.

The group are a very friendly bunch and everyone is made to feel welcome. We would particularly like to hear from owners of businesses in Bristol and the South West who are interested in how bespoke software can help their organisations.
